Old Suggestions Thread

So this site has been REALLY SLOW lately and I'm looking for ways to improve this site. So, do you guys have any suggestions for me to help make this site better?

Stop complaining/making threads about the site being slow and instead do threads with interesting topics and things.
Also, most people on here have inbox message set up to email, so message everyone to try to get them back

Right now I am rendering a video for the promo challenge. And I notice the moving background is slowing my firefox down. Does anyone else think we should switch it to a static background and maybe unique BYW Rulz background? If so I can make one if needed.

I got some suggestions on maybe reducing the number of sections on the site and renaming a few. This may help in organizing things and help us keep things going. So I'll start in no particular order.

BYW Rulz Kayfabe Challenge -> Promo Championship
It is no secret that the Kayfabe Challenge will turn into the Promo Championship and it is about into the finals. So to me it makes sense to change the name to prepare for whoever becomes the new champion and start taking on challengers.

Supershows, General Discussion, Federation News -> Backyard Wrestling
All three of these sections deal with backyard wrestling. As of yet we don't have enough people in one area to have a ton of supershows, so they might as well be merged. And since General Discussion focuses on BYW it would naturally contain news about Federations.

Life Behind The Scenes, Anything -> Anything
Life Behind The Scenes is a broad topic that is generally outside the scope of wrestling, which is what I think the anything section is for anyway.

Pro Wrestling -> Professional Wrestling
Just a slight change of name to keep it formal.

Federation Listings -> Federation Listings
Have to keep this so people have a spot to find our feds easily. My suggestion on this though is that all feds should list their full names, without any of those abbreviation tricks, because that makes this very disordered. Also we could have them post their location in the "subtitle" box, so if anyone is looking for a fed they can see the locations.

Media Section, Spring Challenge -> Media Section
So the sping challenge is almost wrapped up, once Flame declares the winner (I think he is the one right?). So its videos can be merged back into the media section.

Town Hall
This is a new section that I suggest. This is purely dedicated so people can discuss the status of the site and offer suggestions instead of grouping them on this single thread. It may help to get the site to grow if people can see it and start thinking of ways to improve.




That's basically it, it will take 10 forum topics and get them down to 7.

Tagline for the Website: Home of the Action, since I dont associate myself with GBYWN anymore :p Thatll get people interested in the site hah

I like the layout idea. Here's a suggestion of my own, I think we should have a blogging section of the site kind of how they had the columns thing on GBYWN around this time last year. Just an idea. I probably won't do a blog one though seeing as I rant more than I blog lol

Also, I think Chongo might be joining this site soon. Just so you're all warned

I slightly disagree with this. General Disscussion and Supershows should be seperated, and i think Federation News could be seperated to. Apart from that i think everything Jaacob should should be changed. Seems like a good idea...

My question is, will there be enough Supershows that it will be an active section? I think that after OWF's supershow is done there wont be any active ones in there.

We need one anyways, its just nessecary lol
